Dear Friend

The Lebanese Information Center and the American Lebanese Coalition are teaming up with a number of Middle Eastern American Organizations to organize the largest Middle Eastern American event ever done before in the USA.

The Middle East is going to be a very important issue in the upcoming elections in November 2004.

Our views and the views of many groups of Middle Eastern descent, who believe in freedom and democracy, and oppose terrorism and fanaticism, have not been properly conveyed, and our voices have not been clearly heard.

Some institutes and centers in the US have been falsely claiming over the years to exclusively represent the opinions and aspirations of all Middle Eastern Americans, Arab Americans, Lebanese Americans, Muslim Americans, etc. and have not been relaying accurate information about our positions on major issues facing the United States and the World today.

We, representing Americans from Middle East ancestry, men and women, affiliated with all religious, ethnic, religious, and political backgrounds are coming together in this major national event in Washington, DC to tell the world and the American people that we stand on the side of freedom, democracy and pluralism.

We are organizing the First American Middle East Convention to be held in Washington on Friday, October 1, 2004 at the Wardman Park Marriott, starting at 6pm. Other cultural and intellectual activities will take place during the day.

The President and a number of US Officials are invited.

This convention is the real window to 4 million Americans from Middle East descent in which they will express their hopes and aspirations for their ancestral lands and extend their gratitude to the efforts of advancing freedom in the Middle East.

The Convention will gather American organizations and individuals from Lebanese, Iraqi, Egyptian, Iranian, Syrian, Sudanese, Yemeni, Jordanian, Palestinian, Turkish, Saudi, Afghani, and other national origins. It will include Sunni, Shiite, Druze, Christian, Jewish and other religious backgrounds. And it will bring together Arabs, Kurds, Chaldo-Assyrians, Persians, Turkic, Armenian, Aramaic and other ethnicities.

We are counting on you to come and support your country the United States, and the cause of Lebanon and your mother countries in the Middle East.

Please mark your calendar: October 1, 2004 at Wardman Marriott Hotel in Washington, DC.
